The common cold is unfortunately a familiar occurrence during the winter months. On average, adults will experience a cold two to four times a year and children are afflicted between three to eight times a year. Moving from warm to cold environments and residing in closed and confined spaces with other individuals all contribute to germs becoming more active.
A cold is a mild viral infection of the upper respiratory system. There are more than 200 different types of viruses that can put a cold into motion. Typical cold symptoms include; nasal stuffiness, a runny nose, sneezing, sore throat and a cough.
